As luxurious as it may seem, regular massages are actually an important part of any good fitness routine. Everyone from professional athletes to physical trainers has given the rubdown the thumbs up, and with good reason.

The cardiovascular system reacts to massage, because of increased blood flow and the delivery of fresh oxygen and nutrients.

It also reduces inflammation and helps manage pain.

Good physical health not only means building up your muscle mass and cutting your body weight but also maintaining your body once it’s the shape you want it to be.

Food and exercise both contribute to keeping your musculoskeletal system strong. Protein-rich foods with specific amino acids promote muscle growth and speed up repair after heavy exercise.

Exercise, unsurprisingly, is also very good for continuous body maintenance. Consistent workouts with special attention paid to covering all parts of the body help to keep your body toned and in shape.

If there has ever been a word that fills people with confusion and dread in the fitness world, it’s “metabolism.

So, let’s start with a definition. Metabolism refers to the chemical processes inside of a body that keep that body alive.

The body takes calories from food, “burns through” them to turn them into energy, and uses that energy to perform its daily tasks. And when you lift heavy weights, go running, or perform high-intensity exercise, your body uses up excess glucose in its muscles. Resulting from this, the body sends out energy to refuel the muscles and increases its resting metabolic rate.

This is a simple factor that has massive implications for your routine.

Consistency is one of the most important factors in any successful fitness routine. Staying motivated can be difficult, especially in a modern life where we have so many other things to worry about in our day-to-day.

Temper your motivation to stay fit with clear goals and strategies to do it. Make sure you set up specific road cones to weave between in your daily quest to get fit, so you know ahead of time what you will be doing. Don’t leave room to second guess yourself.

Then load up on motivational posters, slogans, phone wallpapers and music to keep your momentum up during your fitness mission. Whatever you can do to keep yourself “in the zone”, do – never be embarrassed by how you choose to keep working on your fitness.
